Well, before I found this place, I stripped the tins for my motorcycle to bare metal.I then filled the dings and modest dents they had.
Then I went to the paint shop and the gal behind the counter told me to use high build primer next. I have now read that I should have
either etched or epoxied the metal first.
My question is.Should I just sand off all the primer, leaving the filler and epoxy over the blank metal and filler?Or should I remove the
filler also, and start from scratch?
Communication volition exist much appreciated.

You need to check the tech sail for your brand of 2K.
Some 2K's are DTM (direct to metallic)
I in one case did the same thing, before I knew amend.
I stripped the entire car and 2k'd information technology.
the motorcar held up just fine.

Your question is a little confusing.

If you sprayed a 2K filler primer on bare metallic (and its Not a D.T.One thousand. primer) you demand to strip it back off. It will not adhere. What brand did you lot spray on blank metallic?
If you lot put your bondo on blank metallic or epoxy,,leave information technology. Information technology will adhere....

Just curious why the 2k wont adhere if information technology doesnt say DTM on the can.. Could you lot please elaborate on that..
And then you lot mean when I sand thru my epoxy when blocking 2k and if I dont either spray acid etch or epoxy back over those places before adding more 2k that I will not have adhesion.. :knockout: :rotfl:

Most all 2K primers say information technology's ok over bare metal break throughs
if they're not any larger than a couple inches.
But check the tech sheet for your brand 2K.
If it'southward a DTM rated primer, then it doesn't matter.
If it'southward not, I'd strip it and outset over only to exist safe.

Slicksand by Evercoat is an instance of a 2K loftier build primer that cannot be practical to blank metallic, you must epoxy first.
